Most hosting service providers will offer you a variety of choices, each with a different group of users in mind. There are low-level options for those who do not require a lot of server disk-space for storage, and who may not require a large monthly traffic allowance. There will probably be medium options too, and then higher level options for the more powerful site.
You may also be offered a choice between Windows and Linux hosting. Which should you choose? I would advise that for 95 percent of sites, a Linux option is best. Most internet servers in the world today are Linux/Unix based, rather than Windows. Why would that be? Well, Linux servers are generally more stable, are generally faster, are less prone to virus attacks, and are cheaper, since Linux is available for free as open-source software.
Will that affect what type of computers will be able to see your site? No! The operating system used on a visitor's computer has no bearing on that used by your server, and vice versa.
