E-commerce is the jargon phrase for 'selling stuff over the internet'.  If you have products or services that you can sell, why not get a 24 hour salesperson to do it for you?  Your online shop is never closed! There are certain important considerations to make when setting up an online shop, though.

Will my hosting contract handle it?

Although is is not always the case, it is generally accepted that an online shopping cart will require a background database of some sort in which to store data.  Normally the lower-end of the hosting options do not offer database facilities.

Also, if the shopping site is going to attract many customers (hopefully!), then will your monthly trafffic allowance be large enough?
